Salisbury Rollergirls’ Season Opener Focused on Giving Back

SALISBURY - The Salisbury Rollergirls took home a win against the 301 Derby Dames of La Plata, MD in their first home bout of the 2019 season last Saturday night. One dollar from each ticket sold at the bout and online was donated to Women Supporting Women in Salisbury, MD.

During the bout held at Mitchell’s Martial Arts, in Salisbury, MD, the Salisbury Rollergirls raised money by selling 50/50 raffle tickets to a packed house. All proceeds from the raffle, including the money donated back to the league by the person who won the raffle, were donated to the GoFundMe account for Dave “Madman Skatermouth”.  Dave, a former Salisbury Rollergirls announcer and devoted fan, is a long-haul trucker and was driving across the country when his appendix burst.  Dave, who lives locally when he is not on the road, has been in the hospital in Indiana since the beginning of December 2018 when his ordeal began.

The Salisbury Rollergirls, will host two more bouts at home on Saturday, April 27 and May 18, 2019.  For a full schedule of events or to find out how you can get involved with the Salisbury Rollergirls, please visit
